How Synergy Works

Synergy is a means for the best threads on forums around the internet to be read by the masses. When a community admin or one of their delegated usergroups submits a thread, it enters the forum's "submission queue". Once every x hours (this number will be variable and based upon a number of factors) a thread from the queue will be accepted by the system at Zoints.com and then propagated across all Synergy enabled forums.

Approximately once per minute, the system updates on each forum with new threads and vote counts. The vote counts are the total number of votes a thread has received across ALL forums, not just the one you're visiting.

There is a super secret squirrel algorithm on Zoints.com that takes all kinds of variables into account. For this reason, you will notice that the order of "popular threads" is not ordered by the number of votes. This is perfectly natural and working as intended. Votes are a VERY important part of the algorithm, so be sure to vote on a thread if you like it!

If a thread gets to the front page, the original author of that thread gets 1 point. Authors around the net who have the most points get listed as a "Top Author".
